Mama Bear

Poor Norah has allergy issues due to the pollen. No fever, just cough and congestion. She's not fussy or anything so the dr. said there is nothing to do except saline drops and suction her out. She was on oxygen and in the NICU for monitoring right after she was born. Apparantly this is pretty common for c-section babies, but it was so hard to not even be able to hold her while she was across the hospital hooked up to feeding tube and oxygen. Anyway,  I think this has made me weird.  Today, Norah and I went to Target for formula and I could barely let go of the buggy. (This is due to my friend who has watched way too many Lifetime movies of freaks that steal babies and tells me to "be careful") then, when I was checking out a lady from church snuck up behind me. Not Nice! Bless her heart, I about pounced her! I feel like a big ol Mama Bear! I don't remember being this weird with Troy! Don't get me wrong, I am perfectly fine with friends and family holding her and loving on her. Troy is at daycare part time while I am on maternity leave, so he goes 3 days a week. When I take him in, ofcourse I take Norah in with me. Oh, the little hands of the 3 year old room! Some of them just look while others are all in her face coughing and touching...Oh My! I do not do well with that either! Thankfully the director told me not to take her in there, to leave her in her office while I pick up/drop off Troy. Thank goodness. I don't wanna go mama bear on the poor 3 year olds! I guess I had a tiny glimpse of what it would be like to have your tiny one sick and in the hospital and germs are really freaking me out this go round.

I am rambling, I know. Sorry, just random thoughts for all 3 people that read my blog!  I only have 2 full weeks until I go back to work and I am sooo not looking forward to it. I love my job but She is still so little that it makes me sad.

Snow Grinch

Why am I a snow Grinch this year? Well, unfortunately I don't happen to have a huge selection of snow gear in maternity clothes, that makes playing in the snow difficult. It took me like 30 minutes to find something to wear, and 30 minutes outside, then a big ol wet puddle of mess to clean up afterwards!  Also, Those who don't work, don't get paid!  I don't get paid maternity leave, so my 5 1/2 weeks of vacation have already been assigned to March.  Here we are in January and I know atleast 2 of those days are gone or unpaid! Ugh! I also hate being stuck inside. I like to know that I can safely get in my car and go on my merry way if I want. Today, I didn't clean house, do laundry or anything! Troy and I baked muffins and cookies this morning and after a failed attempt to make a snowman, and the largest snow angel (Mine) ever seen, we came inside and haven't been out since. Even Troy hasn't asked to go play again in the snow!  Oh Well. That's my gripe for the week! Baby Norah Kinsley Brucke will be here the week of March 7th! Only 8 more weeks left! Hope everyone else enjoys the snow, but I will be glad to see it go!

And the BAby is.....

A GIRL!!!
Let me tell you about this place. We had a 4d ultrasound done at Visions of Life in Piedmont. They are sooo wonderful, by the way! So, we walk in and the tech takes me into a room with a huge flat screen t.V. and a big couch for the family to sit on and a train table and toys. Troy was a happy camper! She turns out the lights and we start the ultrasound. BAM, I saw the legs spread and we all saw a "Boy Part", so we looked and looked and the tech says she thinks it's a boy but the umbilical cord was between the baby's legs and she just wasn't 100 percent sure. So, she says to grab some lunch and come back and maybe the baby will change positions. So, we enjoyed some yummy mexican food and returned back to the clinic. She waved us on in and even told my father in law that she was pretty sure it was a boy but she had to know for sure. So, I get on the table/bed thing again and BAM the baby had her legs spread wide open and guess what.... No "Boy Parts" at all, no where. We spent another 30 min checking and making sure nothing returned, haha! But, turns out the "Boy Part" the first time was the umbilical cord.  This place is so amazing. I can't believe she worked that hard and went the extra mile to make sure that she had the sex of my baby correct.  The way this place works is you pay 60 bucks for a gender ultrasound (that says 10 mins), you get a DVD of the ultrasound, a sneak peak 4d, and a sheet of 4d pictures, and ofcourse printouts of the 2d ultrasound.  I ended up with 2 DVD's about 20 2d pictures and about a hour and a half of ultrasound time! At no extra charge. I even tried to tip the sweet girl! Really, who goes that extra mile for you these days!

Cute Pictures

We had a great time at the fall for Jesus festival!
Granny and Troy at Hollywild on the Safari bus. I really thought I loved this place but ohmygosh, I have changed my mind!  There were chickens just walking around the restroom and my poor lil guy was scared to death to go potty. I told one of the workers and she said "oh, they just wander around wherever they want". Ugh. This visit really grossed me out. We are strictly a Christmas Lights visitor from now on. Chickens dancing and poopin around the potty is just gross! I skipped all the animal pictures, because if you've seen them once, you've seen them a hundred times!
We have had a really great weekend. Friday, we went to the Fall for Jesus Festival. I loved seeing so many people I haven't seen in so long. My favorite cousin from Walhalla was even there! My new Oktoberfest! Well, the Oktoberfest is in Walhalla and I used to really look foward to it because you just see everyone there. The past few times I've went I really haven't seen anyone. Guess I'm getting old!   We had some friends over to watch the Georgia/Carolina game! Wahoo, Go GAmeCoCks! I have one very happy husband!

11 weeks

I'm really having a hard time blogging. For one, I can't type with Brucke reading behind me or Troy climbing around in my lap. Yes, we still have a desktop and it's in the living room. Also, I feel like I  need to be by myself to think and type clearly. Ha, thats hardly ever! Anyway, Baby Update!  Today I am 11 weeks and 1 day. Wahoo! With Troy, I wasn't nearly as sick as I am this go round. BUT, I'm starting to feel much better! YaY! I also had my first ultrasound appt on friday, Aug 13th. Well, friday the 13th is def. a bad luck day.  My doctor's ultrasound equipment wasn't working, BOO! then, he was really pretty rude about the whole thing, and he didn't make over the fact that my husband took off work for this and my son was there to see the baby. Troy was so sweet, too. He told the dr that his mommy had a baby in her belly and really just talked his ears off and the dr. didn't even acknowledge him. Horrible appt.! Anyway, I switched Doctors! So, 2 fridays later, I had another appointment with the same group of Dr.s I  had with Troy.  It went sooo much better. Great ultrasound pictures and found out I am about a week further along than I thought. Honestly, I switched Dr.s to begin with so I could deliver at AnMed, But too bad cause I switched back to old faithful and am delivering at St Frances again.  Well, my timing is up, Troy wants to sit in my lap and is crawling all over me and my grammar, spelling and run on sentences will drive me nuts later when I read this. BUT, atleast I blogged! HAHA! Happy Sunday everyone!
